Korea was AMAZING!
After returning for the first time in over a decade, I realized what a great place it is. I had the best time of my life exploring Seoul, experiencing the nightlife, drinking massive amounts of soju, hanging out with friends, meeting up with relatives, doin' touristy things, and going to North Korea. That's right, I went into North Korea.
I originally went to Korea for a global convention for ethnic Korean scientists & engineers from all around the world (US, UK, France, Germany, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, & Japan). Pretty cool to hear Koreans speak with Russian, British, German, or French accents.
Anyways, here are just a few of the 2.2Gigs of photos & videos I took on my trip...
This is me at a Samsung store (kinda like an apple or sony store) in the largest mall in Asia (COEX). Korea has the coolest electronic gadgets...

Random Harley in the store (I want one more than I want a crotch rocket now)...

Some of the people from the conference. Koreans from all around the world... (Russia, UK, Korea, Germany, & US are represented in this photo)

Met up with my long-time friend, James Yoon. He's now living and working in Korea.

The Korean-British...

The Korean-Canadians...

The Korean-Americans... U-S-A!

My boys Chris & Jackie...

Anyways..... Ever seen the movie J.S.A. (Joint Security Area)...Well we went there. It's the only place along the demilitarized zone (DMZ) where North & South Korean soldiers come face to face. Very intense. Pretty surreal. We saw North Korean soldiers. And we actually stepped across the border into North Korea. The military had us sign waivers that stated they would not be responsible if we got hurt or killed in the event of military action. That big gray building behind me belongs to North Korea. The border runs down the middle of those silver and blue negotiation buildings.

We got to go into one of those blue buildings. The border runs down the middle of a long conference table in the center of the room. Officials from both sides sit on their respective sides literally at the border. This guard is standing with an "ROK" stance at the end of the table. To his right (our left) is South Korea and to his left (our right) stands my friend Justin in North Korea.

Here I am standing in North Korea, trying to make peace. But here stands a guard preventing any of us going out the door to North Korea.
Site of the famous "Axe Murder" Incident. In which a bunch of North Koreans axed to death to US soldiers over an argument about trimming a tree.

"The Bridge of No Return" depicted in the movies J.S.A. and James Bond Die Another Day where they do prisoner exchanges.

A lookout point in which we can see the North Korean landscape...

More partying and drinking...

Drinking soju...

And more soju...

I can't believe how much Koreans party and drink. Everyday until the sun comes out. We went to a Korean folk village. Interestingly, we spotted a little girl wearing this shirt...

Chris and Me along the river.

Having a little fun..

Crossing the river...

I went to Olympic Stadium where the Olympics were held in 1988.

I went to the 600 year old Korean palace of Changdeokgung...

King's secret garden area...

In Chinese characters, the door tells me that if I walk through it I will be forever young...Yes!...

The best airline ever...
